Subject: Original Figure Wishlist: What Would You Like to See?

sixus1 ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 12:00 PM · edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 12:11 AM

Just wondering what kinds of original figures people might be looking for but not finding. Not talking about Mike or Vic character packs here, but 100% original figures/geometry. Whishlists anyone?

genny ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 12:17 PM

I want a "Harness" for the Poser Horses..........a harness that works with any wagon. I have all these wagons, but "NOTHING" that connects the harness's to the horse's, and the horse's to the wagon! They are all just "standing" there. I don't know if this is what you are asking about?, but this is what I want, and I don't even need it to be a "freebie"........I will more then gladly "BUY" it, as long as I can connect my "horse's" to the wagon. (: Genny

Monstery monsters are always nice. One can go so far with adding alien morphs to standard figures; you are still dealing with basic bipeds. For SF work, it's good to have a supply of aliens that look REALLY alien!

Phantast, may be you should adopt the modeling method I use.
Its called mirror modeling.
I look in the mirror and I model what I see.

I would like to see a medium res woman with small breasts, preferably in the chest not the collars, and joints that actually look ok when they are bent.

MachineClaw ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 1:01 PM

I posted my thoughts in the marketplace thread but I'll post here too. Sci-Fi bad guys, robots, icky nasty beasties. Fantasy, Dwarves n Gnomes (real lack in Poserland of these), monstors to bash n kill, we have dragons, orcs, faries, but more bad guys are needed for variety. I'd really love some GOOD power armour for Vicki and Mike, Vicki3 too. Anime style, Starship troopers like not a Mech, more space marine ala Alien II.

pdxjims ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 1:15 PM

Ditto on the robots. But more humanoid. I'd like as many expression morphs as you can give them. A good resonably priced skeleton. Short hair Terrier type dog. A little red devil, comic style. Highly morphable and posable male genitals to give the V3 male what he lacks. ...and if you want a BIG project, a new high res highly morphable male figure. Daz has M3 on the drawing board now, but it'll take MONTHS to finish him.

Marque ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 1:15 PM

I second the space marine stuffage, and please make it stuff we can use commercially, not copies of movie props. 8^) Marque

Credible, believable, thisworld with 'flaws' and imperfections that are - in fact - perfect.....whatever that might mean to you. Ultra High-res textures.

a_super_hero ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 1:44 PM

I like your werewolf, perhaps other of the same line like a Creature from the Black Lagoon.

elgyfu ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 1:45 PM

Hobbits would be cool! And a sphinx, and a minotaur. Oh, and I want a realistic baby and a guinea pig, and I would like a chinchilla too. Just a few thoughts there, I guess I will have to perfect this modelling lark and do it myself!

SamTherapy ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 2:05 PM

I'd like to see a hi res, very detailed version of Giger's Alien. I have the free one that's kicking around, and while it's pretty good for a freebie, it's far from accurate. However, what I really would like are some very accurate, very detailed models of guitars. I have several bought and free ones, and with one exception none of them are up to the mark. Someone said they would make a very accurate copy of my Strat - but I have yet to send the gentleman the pics. I'd love an accurately detailed and proportioned Les Paul Standard. Nobody makes one. There are several available, but none are accurate.

Millennium cats and dogs

EsnRedshirt ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 2:15 PM

Fox is very heavy-handed in their copyright on the Alien figure- I've seen multiple Alien models for Quake 2, and every one was pulled within days by Fox's request. Monsters are cool though. If you want to delve into clothing, then good, high-quality armor is cool as well, especially for stock characters like Posette and Poser 5's Judy and Don (while some people still may say they're ugly, you can't see their faces when they're wearing a helmet anyway- and some of us still don't have Vicki.)

pigeon (not clay), a baby, a panda, a morphable umbrella (open to close), pool table

A large framed, hairy bodied, photorealistic male character with morphable, realistic facial hair.

Very interesting replies, and thanks for them so far! Currently, I have plans to continue some of the figures I currently offer in the context of theme based product lines. I am curious as to how this might be recieved. For example, I hope to continue from my Werewolves with a line of Classic Monsters i.e.; Vampire, Frankenstein, Mummy and so on. Also, as mentioned in another forum, the two dragons I have available are part of a series of six which I am working on. A new figure I have under review for Marketplace is a Minotaur for Poser 4/5. As far as the idea of high res alternative to Mr. Mike from Daz, I hope soon to have the Sixus1 Human Male ready, tested and available, though I am taking great pains to make this figure as feature laden, anatomically accurate and versatile as possible so I won't put a firm date on it just yet. If anything mentioned here is of interest to anyone, by all means give me you comments, questions and specific features you'd like to see and I'll do my best to implement as much of them as possible. Thanks! BTW: I've attached a shot of that Minotaur just because I'm really proud of the way he came out!:)

A decent cat, of course.

sbertram ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 4:20 PM

I'd really like to see more vehicles, from a broader range of genres. Many of the vehicles that we have out there now are very nice, but I'd like to see some more realistic space vehicles...for example, concept cars that you might see at the Detroit Auto Show. I'd also like to see more planes, spaceships, etc. I's also second Marque's notion on original models of this type, not simply copies of vehicles from movies. If I saw vehicles like this, I'd empty my wallet into the marketplace pretty quick. :D

theinvid ( ) posted Mon, 13 January 2003 at 4:52 PM

I would love to see more critters: Guinea Pig (I have four real ones and can donate photos), koala bear, humming bird, collie. I'd also love to see some "real world" stuff for rooms like a pile of dirty laundry, dust-affect for furniture, more toys for the millennium kids and baby, etc.

There's so many adventures the E-Bunny has been on that aren't on the commercials, I just want to share, but alas, no bunny anywyere on the whole wide net. Al Gore, where are you?

That Minotaur rocks!!! Doesn't look like a good guy. I'm working on a cat but he is cartoonish.

GraphicFoxx ( ) posted Tue, 14 January 2003 at 6:40 AM

The Minotaur is very nice. I'd say keep going with the monsters you're working on. I wouldn't be interested in Frank, but a mummy and vampire for sure.

hmm wish list eh? I best make it count and cover my bases then :-p I've been looking for a good drizzt model, and I'm kinda surprised I've never seen one, oh and a drider (thats a half drow half spider, much like a centaur) Elric of Melnibone, Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser, frazetta's deathstalker, R.E.H'S Solomon Kane, Marvel's Deathlock, and anything based on game's workshops warhammer 40,000 table top game. Now I'm going to go search the market place cause I'm positive that I'll find half this stuff their alreaady and feel like a dork

sixus1 ( ) posted Thu, 16 January 2003 at 8:54 AM

Actually, I've kept an eye out for a long time for a lot of those same things which is why I finally started just doing them and offering them myself now. There have been a few attempts a some such figures, but many of these attempts just weren't quite as nice as I had hoped. I know there are some pretty decent Warhammer fig's in Free Stuff (or at least, there used to be) but if I'm remembering correctly, none of them were textured so that was sort of an issue. Since many of the characters and character types you've mentioned are copywritten, it wouldn't be acceptable to offer exact duplicates of them for sale, however I am working on what I call the "Sixus1 Beastiary" which will, at least, try to cover as many bases for the fantasy creatures as possible. Also in development are the Sixus1 Male and Sixus1 Female, which I plan to offer as alternatives to Michael and Victoria. Once completed, I will offering a very wide array of character packages for them which might sate some of those high fantasy needs.

that sounds awesome sixus! I'd definately be interested in that.
