This has probably been dicussed before, If it has I've missed it soz, but for a newbie to the texturing game, I was wondering.... Exactly how do you use the V3 v2 Uv's downloadable from Daz. I have UVMapper, tried it before, but it won't open the uvs file format they are in..I know it's probably a simple solution but I haven't got a clue where to start.. Help..? =)

I don't have V3, but the uvs procedure is usually the same : open UV mapper file :load the obj which you want to change the map of file : save as... choose a new name. This will prevent you from permanently altering your original file file :import uvs map file :save the model Close UV mapper. WARNING : step 3 is of utmost importance. If you have the original file, you can always do other transformations with your uvs, but if you damageit, it's GONE. Speaking from experience, here... Hope this helps as for the general procedure, but refer to your read me for further details. Compiler

Thanks Compiler..I'll give that a shot..And the readme..well Daz didn't put one in the .exe Another question folks...Once V3 is remapped..can you drop the V2 texture maps on the new UV map, or do you just use the normal V2 maps..?

Still haven't got V3, but if you are using UV mapper to remap Vicky 3 into using Vicky 2 maps, you cannot use Vicky 3 maps on her any more. That's why you have to keep the 2 objs : the original to have Vic3 textures, and the remapped to have Vic2 texs. But ot would be great to have confirmation from people who own Vic 3... Compiler

Hi... i used this 'how to' worked perfectly! Steps are as follows: -Launch UVMapper -Load RuntimeGeometriesDAZPeopleblMilWom_v3.obj -Import UVs (of your choosing) -Save the resultant obj (with only UV coordinates & material groups) to the same directory with a different name (like "blMilWom_v3-2uv.obj"). -Open RuntimelibrariescharacterDAZ PeopleVictoria 3.cr2 in your favorite text editor (EditPad works well with large ascii text files) -Replace each occurrence of "figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:blMilWom_v3.obj" with "figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:" plus the name of the file you saved from UVMapper -Save the cr2 with a new name (like "Victoria 3-2uv.cr2") -Load in poser and apply a v2 map hope that help...... what it does is create a new V3 figure, that you can apply all the v3 head and body morphs to but it takes v2 textures, what this new figure won't do is take v3 textures -=SimderZ=-

hmmm.... it worked great for me. I don't know how i can help you... I don't think i can send you my remapped V3, i don't think thats legal.. When i created a new cr2, i had to copy the origial v3 one and then change the text and save it, otherwise when i tried to save it before it just saved as a normal text file. I imported the blMilWom_V3_V2UVs.uvs not the other one. Make sure you renamed the Cr2 path files with the same name you saved ur new OBJ as. I am going to put together a step by step tutorial with pix ok ;) -=SimderZ=-
