Just opened V2 OK in both Notepad and Wordpad. What happens when you try with V3?

ford3auss What is it exactly you want to do . A OBJ file is just that a bunch of numbers. Did you mean a CR2 file ?

An object file is the base geometry for a character. A character or figure file contains the instructions for morphing and posing that is applied to the figure. Geometries must be opened with a program that can read the bytes and interpret them (usually visually) as a model. Anim8or is a free product that will let you open and modify object files. Unless you know what you're doing, don't do it. If you save a modified object under the same name, making changes, your character may no longer work. What most people edit in notepad or another word processor is the .cr2 character file. It is a set of instructions to Poser to manipulate the object file. Be careful here too, since you can screw it up if you don't know what you're doing. Always save a good copy back. A lot of us hack into the .cr2 file for some reason or another: usually to create a pose file, or to put in more specific or corrected references to a texture or bump file. There are good tutorials here on how to do it. A pose file (.pz2) is really just a cut down character file containing only posing (either figure or material or both). These can also be edited in a word processor. Hope this helps.

...and I don't have V3 so not quite keeping up, but haven't some of the wizards already conjured up a procedure for remapping V3 to accept V2 maps?

Please forgive me all, im such a loooooser lol, i did not read the how 2 correct. It says open the cr2 not the obj, so sorry for wasting your time,,

Yes, you can remap V3 to accept V2 maps. Daz has a .uvs file which will do this. You load V3 into UV Mapper (free version at www.uvmapper.com), then you import the .uvs map. Save the model under a new name, such as V3-V2Map. I don't remember if DAZ has a usable .cr2 for the remapped V3. If not, just take the V3 sr1.cr2 file and replace the following line (it will appear twice in the file): figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:blMilWom_v3.obj with: figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople:[yourfile].obj Save the modified .cr2 file under a new name. I'd also suggest copying the accompanying .rsr or .png file and naming it the same as your new .cr2 file. That will keep you from having Mr. Shrugs in your library. If this isn't clear enough, please let me know!
