Subject: Apologies... And a rather Red Face.

Visioneer ( ) posted Fri, 17 January 2003 at 10:37 PM · edited Thu, 09 January 2025 at 3:18 AM

Actually... To let you all know, I was reading through the forums, about the theft problem of meshes, regarding a certain number of individuals in other forums... Big mess, anyway, I sent a friend of mine a link, and he needed log-in information. Figuring that I could trust him, I gave him my info. Needless to say, he went on to have a little fun with my previous ID. I would SINCERELY like to apologize for this gross misconduct, and it seems that he gave another friend my login info as well, hence the "arguing" with myself. I guess I should not have gone against my better judgement, but I wanted him to see the thread. Anyway, if you feel it is appropriate to ban this account as well, I understand. (Those jerks even went in and deleted my gallery... sigh Oh well, a lesson well learned I suppose) Again, you ALL have my upmost apologies. Jeremy R. Mahon gaer@pacbell.net

I really have to ask what sort of friend would do that to another friend? I personally don't know the people, but if it was me, I'd be looking for better friends. ;)

Yeah, well, it was a mistake not to be repeated.

Did you do some ass kicking, ... or are they too young to beat the crap out them?

Visioneer ( ) posted Fri, 17 January 2003 at 10:56 PM

They are all the way across the country. I'm in Cali, they are in Washington. It'd be one helluva trip for a little physical violence.

But it would feel SO good....wouldn't it?! ;) Find friends of your own caliber. Loneliness is preferable to some people's company.

I got an aluminum bat you can borrow, if you decide to take the violence route.

Ask me a question, and I'll give you an answer.

Visioneer? You probably already figured this one out, but if they abuse your trust when you give it, they ain't your friends. Time to trade them in on a newer model with better features. And bucket seats. ;]

It takes real character to apologize in my book. Hope you continue in this community.

Visioneer, Lessons learned for everyone, do not give out your personal data. Not even to your Mum, ... especially to not your mum ;] Thank you for coming up to the plate and admitting what happened, that takes a lot of courage. We appreciate that and welcome you back to the community. Sincerely, ladynimue

One thing to be careful of is that when I send a url of a thread to a friend, on occasion, the url includes my session key. I haven't figured out how to direct someone to a particular thread without giving them my login. Sometimes it occurs, sometimes it doesn't. Any advice on how to send a thread url without login would be appreciated.

Eric, here is an example of what NOT to send... http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1044840&Form.sess_id=&Form.sess_key=* Simply edit out the "&Form.sess_id &Form.sess_key like this.... http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1044840

Moral of story : trust no-one

Norbert ( ) posted Sat, 18 January 2003 at 8:34 PM

Then how can I trust what you just said?

mabfairyqueen ( ) posted Sat, 18 January 2003 at 8:37 PM

Who were these, uh, "friends" so that we all can especially avoid them? You don't have to tell us, but I ditto all remarks about them certainly not being your friends.
