Subject: Vicky 3, Injecting Morphs in Poser 5

I know someone already posted about this, but I couldn't find the threads using the Search function. I tried to inject one facial morph into Vicky 3 using Poser 5. I finally gave up after a half hour or so. Do others have this problem? Has DAZ even tested Vicky 3 with Poser 5? Are we doomed to stick with Poser 4 if we want to use DAZ's new Vicky3 and Mike3 (when he finally arrives?!) If so, that sucks.

I have had absolutely no problem with the morph injection system. Applying all morphs (either body or head) takes about 2 minutes. Did you install her to a linked runtime? or the P5 runtime?

I inject in Poser 4 then save that char under a name. When I pull her into 5 she works fine, (the saved char). Vickie was tested in 5 by beta testers who own it, but on their own as Daz is not using Poser 5. Marque

as GraphicFoxx said loading v3 and her morphs into the P5 runtime rather then the download or a linked runtime should solve your problems, it did mine. :)

I installed Vicky 2, Vicky 3 and all her stuff directly into the Poser 5 (runtime) folder. (Most of my other stuff is installed into an alternate runtime folder. I didn't want to take a chance that this would cause problems.) I decided to inject the morphs in Poser 4 and then copy the figures into Poser 5, and use the Poser 5 MAT files from there. That worked ok. Then, out of curiousity, I tried adding the face morphs again, onto Vicky 3, in Poser 5. The job appeared to be accomplished. You could see the little "hourglass" figure, or whatever it's called. I noticed something weird from the start. Look at all the blank morph dials. There were a few there from the start. Now each time I try to inject a morph, I get another blank dial. Maybe my computer is just too wimpy. It's an old Celeron with 512MB of RAM. Sometimes Poser 5 just seems to bog down and wonder whether it really wants to perform.

I got V3 when she came out, but haven't used her yet. This morning I decided to start an image with her, but have run into the same problems Roger did. I tried to load the supermodel body morphs and had to ctrl-alt-del after about 10 minutes of the hour glass. I can load single expression dials (which show up between pages and pages of blank dials), but any multiple dial loads cause P5 to stop responding. The All-Head Morphs locked it up, too. While I was searching here, I tried the All-Expression injection, and the hourglass has been spinning for about 15 minutes. I'm running Poser 5 with the latest SR on a 1.5 Pentium4 with 1024 megs RAM. Very frustrating.

When I wanted to inject facial expression morphs, I had the head selected. I didn't see any evidence that the morphs were injected. Then I discovered something funny. If I selected the body first, then injected a morph, and then selected the Head, the morphs would show up. I was happy with this discovery until it was evident that Vicky 3 and Poser 5 apparently are too much of a burden for my pitiful computer. It takes at least 10 minutes to perform a Poser 4 Render using Poser 5. I just don't have the patience to work that way. So it's back to Poser 4.

My problem seemed to be the linked Runtime folder. I had her in my P4 version. I re-installed in P5 and now she works. It was a pain in the butt, though, because V3 is an upgrade for V2, which was not in my Poser 5 directory, so I had to add her too. And of course, my V2 is an upgrade of V1... She seems to be ok now, though. It sure would have been nice if CL and DAZ had worked together on P5 and V3. I expect she'll be smoother in DAZ Studio...
