what magazine do you think is the best for modelers ! there arent many out there also you can list books i used to be a big 3d world guy but feel the tutorials arent as great as they once were ! what id like to see is a mag that covers one subject from begging to end even if its as simple as head tutorial i think it would be cool to go into detail like how to model difrent ethnic eyes noses lips etc how polymaping makes a difrence whether ot not to model eyelashes eyebrows if so whats the best methods so on getting the latest updates on software is nice but i find that there is far to much news latley and not enough info in the magazines maybe we could make a list of what we would like to see and send it to 3d world here p.s. this is not saying 3d world is bad just would be nice to get some opinions its got ot be hard to satisfy everyone maybe this would give them direction

I'd have to go for 3dWorld, but I agree with your ideas. It's all very well explaining how to create lightning in Maya for example but I'd much rather really good tuts on the principles of modelling, characterisation, boning, texturing, modifying/writing shaders, hell the list is endless! Articles like this wouldn't have to be real beginners stuff either, I'm sure all but the most proficient 3d artists could learn from really good articles written by the best in the business. Make them really in depth, like half the magazine, it could build up to be an encyclopedia of 3d! Computer Arts mag sometimes has some good articles too but I generally only buy either of these mags for a particular article or something on the CD. Baz
