I'd like to place text on an image in photoshop with the text appearing as if it was rubber stamped onto the image. Any suggestions? I'm using Photoshop 7 and Illustrator 10. thanks

I would say that you need to choose your font carefully. Rough up the edges of the letters and apply it slightly transparently

The Alien Skin "Xenofex" plugin has an excellent "erode" function which gives your image a nice corrupted edge.
