So that everybody interested gets to read this message:

DAZ told me this weekend (SunDay morning) they planned to release Environment Creators Version II for Poser 5 all along. It was all a mistake.

I decided not to tell you till I got the confirmation, which I did just now.
The program, already released for Poser 4 in MAC and PC, will now also be available for Poser 5 (Windows only, but of course, that's the only platform for Poser 5 up till now).

OK, I think this is great and good news, especially when listening to all the rumours of late..

Cheers,

Paul Christiaan Bos

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this may be the first thing Daz has offered for P5 specificly. I wanted to get version 2 last week, but unless I'm sure it'll work with P5, I don't want it. Good news! I wonder if it'll work with Daz Studio (grin).

What is the advantage of it being Poser 5, if you do not mind me being curious.

I hope they fix TheTailor for P5 user also :( Mazak

a_super_hero: Some utilitoes that work under ProPack and base P4 don't work well in P5. I'm especially leary of light sets (some P4 lightsets lock up P5) and Python scripts. There's also a few models that don't look quite right in P5. I bought a shirt for Mike that works great in P4, but in P5 one sleave is discolored and won't take a texture. Sure, with some things you can tweak them to death and they'll work, but not all. Mazak: Tailor works fine for me, and I use P5. You just have to save the source figure files as uncompressed.

Great news! My budget doesn't think so, but who needs a budget anyway!

EricofSD ( ) posted Mon, 03 February 2003 at 9:44 PM

Mazak, I hope tailor gets fixed too. Several months ago code twister responded to an email and said he was busy on other things and that he wanted to wait for P5 to stabilize before he worked on it. Apparently he knows what the problem is cuz he sounded like he did in the email. Hopefully, its stabilized well enough for for him now.

The P5 version is not up yet. Any updates as to when it will be? I am really looking forward to using this. Regards STORM

Hi there,

as promised: I put up a page with Images of renderings with the Environment Creators II, and a short tutorial as well- on my site. Should be with DAZ later this week, but I thought you might like to know sooner :-) It's not a manual, just something to show you how the main parts work and what kind of lighting you can create, more or less out of the box-

Let me know if you miss something.

Hello again- just to tell you I added some information. It's getting more like a tutorial- just not quite. But the page does give insight in the capabilities, and shows a lot of renders. Enjoy! Paul Christiaan
