Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 18 7:53 am)
I'm guessing you're using P4. you can manually convert it to BUM format in Photoshop. fill the blue channel with black, emboss the red channel from 135 degrees upper left, emboss the green channel from 30 degrees lower right. Either save as a BMP and rename to BUM, or save as any file format and edit the poser file to refer to this as the bumpmap explicitly. To let Poser do it, just load the jpeg onto a plane (square) as the bumpmap, then let it convert and later choose the BUM file.

How can I convert a jpg image to bump map? Sometimes the textures load the jpg image as a bump map without the dialog window and then what I do is to open a character without the texture and then load the jpg and the dialog box appear. Is there any way that I can activate the dialog box?
