I have similar problems in OS X; but the importing same poser object is no problem in OS 9 so I tend to do it that way and then open the Bryce file in OSX and then- no problem. I haven't got round to using the update for OS X yet so not sure if that will work, but above is certainly one work around. It works for me but I'vegot the luxury of having two machines one with OS 9 and t'other with OS X. I'd be grateful if anyone could shed light on wheteher the patch fixes this also or if it is an entirely different bug! cheers iMan PS Pierre- I'm sure you'll agree that othere than that OS X is to die for! The ultimate OS also being able to set a render and leave it to work on various other files is dream come true also. PC/ Wintel nerders take of note!
Yeah!! Awright; do you guys suppose that the Wintel sufferers would consider dragging themselves into the 21st century? ;-} sna-ha naaaaaahhhhhh. But they'd take Jag over the bone shaker any time! just goes to show that whilst computers may be logical machines; humans aint! Was a time when you'd get a response to a controversial statement like that but you've only got to go into a PC World or some such place to seet the difference for yourself. Sure, XP... yeah I was born in the 20th C too y'know ;-D)))))))))))))
I use OS 10.2.3 everyday with Bryce too and I've also encountered this problem. The 5.0.1 patch doesn't fix it and the workaround is to do exactly what the program was expecting - put all the textures in the folder that the .obj is in - then it will not crash and you textures will come in right with your model. The last time I did this it was pretty cool - I didn't even need to 're-texture' the surfaces - it read the .mtl file correctly and everything was ready to go on import. Scott
The best workaround would be to get a PC. Or, spend the same amount you did on your fruit-based computers, and get three PCs. If speed is everything, then you monkeys would realize that a "Jaguar" aint got nothing on a falcon. (cackles) Imanwillie, we all can multi-task or multi-thread. It's not a Mac thing, at all. Bash anything different, it's human nature!
Aye, I'm not trying to bash Macs, Astride! Opposite you, I'm stuck with those POS's all day, Ahhh sweet Irony! My wish would be for a Bryce-based OS, done in 3D. You'd think that given the power of our graphics cards, the whole OS would be in 3D! And OSX is beautiful, in the same way the new portable Etch-a-Sketch's are!

There's a problem which starts to be painful : when I import a Poser model in bryce under X.2.3 and I've not put the appropriate texs in the same folder as the Bryce project, Bryce shuts down just after asking me for the localization of the missing texs. It doesn't happen in OS 9. What is wrong ? I've just read there's an update to Bryce for Mac ? Will it solve the problem ? Have a nice day ! Pierre
