THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: NOTE...Rendering to disk

I chose "Render to Disk", started it, a prompt to "Save As" came up. OK, I clicked to start. 2 days go by and it finishes. Here's the tricky part, I'm so much in the habit of saving a file when it is done that I didn't realize when I saved the file I Re-wrote 2 days of rendering back to the original 1% - 1 pass file...UGH! So my advice is when you use "Render to Disk" Rename that file because 2 days or even a lot of hours can cause you to forget. This is worse than a "Bryce Fault Error" because it's self inflicted. LOL Hope this helps

Did you try just changing the image's name after it was saved, to something else then re-opening it?

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

No, however the date of last modified was within minutes of me finishing. I open it, got surprised and realized that the Prompt for "save as mode" was exactly that. and when I saved just before closing bryce it re-wrote the bmp.

Yeah, it's a really nasty mistake. I've had that once with a scene that rendered for 5 days. Since then I always RTD the scene to a different filename.

Ouch

Might as well render to screen, doesn't save that much time to do it to a disk.
