Hey all, has anyone found any good tutorials for using The Tailor with V3? Any and all help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Do a search for it, it was covered when she first came out and you can use her with the free mannikin and another file that will help....cannot remember the name of it, someone help out with this please. Marque

believe LordNakagawa Talor freebie helps conversions. In freestuff called "V2 to V3 Conversion tool" FyreSpiryt also has a "Joint-setting pose for V3 clothes" freebie that helps with clothing. do a search for either of these users and you should run across the thread where both users talk about V3 and talor n clothing.

Hi. I don't have the Tailor, but I was wondering if there's a reason why people are not sharing or even selling their Tailor-morphed clothing CR2s. I'd really like to be able to use some of the older DAZ Vicky clothing with V3 (not V3-V2), and have been curious as to why no one is sharing their successful adjustments. Is it illegal for some reason to share morphed free clothing if you use the Tailor to do it? Thanks, take care. SnowS

you need 3 specific files (all available in freestuff) The V3 Mannikin & the Jp's and mags... because 'tailorizing' clothes won't work on there own, after you have added the v3 morphs from the mannikin to ur chosen item, you will have to then open that saved item up in poser apply the JP's and then the mags, and spawn morph targets for each mag zone.. then you can delete the mags.. save the item again... start a new poser page . load up V3 and the new clothing and play about with the new morph targets u have just created.. what the Tailorising does is add a morph called V3 with gives the basic shape of V3, but the JP's and mags are crucial, because the 'pull' the clothing in the correct way to fit V3 all around. I know that sounds confusing, I know theres a tutorial somewhere... here it is: http://www.thenetherworks.com in the tips & tutorial section.. also has links for the Mannikin & Jp & mags ;) it has worked excellently for me so far! -=SimderZ=-

What are you having problems with? Some tips: Tailor will not work with any P5 CR2s or any CR2s that have been saved in P5. You need to load V3 in P4, inject and set your morphs, then save your Morphed CR2. Doing all morphs at once, because doing one at a time is slow.... After you have morphed your V3, spawn morphs for all body parts (except the fingers) and give them all the same name -- e.g. MyV3Morph. When you use Tailor, select all MyV3Morphs (22 of them excluding the fingers), then (under Create Morphs) check the "Morphs Selected are like one body morph" option before you "Create Morphs in Dress." To select all 22 morphs at once, go to the figure, then to Groups, then to Hip, then right click MyV3Morph.

" Hi. I don't have the Tailor, but I was wondering if there's a reason why people are not sharing or even selling their Tailor-morphed clothing CR2s." In my case, it's just laziness. Which one are you interested in? If it's one I have, maybe I'll take a shot at it.

I think people don't share their morphed clothes CR2s for these reasons: Copyright, distribution, and user agreements, adding morphs to V3 clothes is very slow, because of V3s high mesh resolution. Also, because of sheer the number of morphs.

Something interesting: I get V3 to work in Tailor.Using p4pp. Why it does I don't know. If you want to take some time there are three lines that usually need to be deleted from p5 cr2's. Of the top of my head I can't remember what they are but they are easy to spot.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

The P5 Cr2 adds additional materials to it that taylor cannot deal with. and The sharing bit is a subject that sacared most of us owners aways from sharing. none of us wants flamed or tossed into jail.

Anyone remember the Mike2 catsuit problem where people put Mike2 morphs into the catsuit and put it into freestuff. Didn't you remember the trouble with DAZ? I guess when you want to share the clothing with the added morphs you have to use RTEncoder to make sure that only those benefit from the tailored Cr2 that have the original models. But I am not sure about that better ask DAZ first.

Thanks for your replies. I didn't mean to sound like I was encouraging illegal sharing of course, I was just wondering if there was a reason why there were no Tailor settings or morphs floating around out there. :) I seem to remember Ronknights giving away Tailored versions of the Adventurers (from DAZ), but that was just copying body morphs to the clothing anyway. I think a lot of people would like to see BAT's clothing fit V3, but since his clothes are no longer available, that might not be possible. Other than that, maybe just the old DAZ stuff (like the Adventurers or Gypsies and Genies), but anything to increase her wardrobe would be nice. ;) No big deal though, was just a little question anyway. Take care! SnowS

Um, might I clarify the problem with the Mike 2 catsuit and DAZ? First, the problem was not a general "clothing with morphs to fit version 2 FBMs". It was the very specific case of an item that covers the ENTIRE body, allowing Mike1 to look like Mike2. Second, DAZ backed off. The catsuit is still allowed. No items of morphed clothing are taboo right now. I think a lot of people shy away from distributing Tailored items because there are a lot of misconceptions about what is and isn't OK. First, something that often comes up is taking sales from CodeTwister because others wouldn't need the Tailor. Not an issue. COdeTwister addressed this in his license and he doesn't mind. Second, most of the time you don't need encoding for the clothes, because the CR2 is useless without the original obj.

Simderella ( ) posted Fri, 21 February 2003 at 7:50 AM

I have converted a great deal of V2 clothes over to V3, I would be willing to share them... but yes i agree what is allowed and whats not, is very hazy... -=SimderZ=-

I have a picture in my gallery of V3 wearing a converted BAT western girl outfit. Tailor worked great with it.

fauve ( ) posted Fri, 21 February 2003 at 10:55 AM

I've been following this discussion with a lot of interest, because I've been under the impression that the Tailor could only work if the mesh of the figure and the mesh of the clothes were the same in vertice count etc (ie, it couldn't convert MilGirls clothing to Vicki, and vice versa.) But if you can convert Vicki 1/2 clothes to fit V3, that must not be the case, since Victoria 3 is a entirely different mesh than V1/2. Does this mean that it would be possible, using the Tailor, to convert Vicki clothes to fit a morphed version of Dina V? I do own the VinaD figure, too, but I have always wished I could use Vicki clothes with the two Handspan Studios morphed DinaV characters. The bodies of those two characters are so much nicer than either the default DinaV body or the VinaDVicki body.

pigfish ( ) posted Fri, 21 February 2003 at 12:27 PM

The trick is the free mannikin. It is built like V2 but has a morph which, when added to the clothing, makes it fit V3. Its sort of like taking a regular V2 and using it to add the breast, hip, etc. morphs to a dress so that you can use clothing on morphed V2's. The pose file is also necessary for the converted clothing to conform to the right places on V3's body. Unfortunately, I haven't found a pose file yet that fits the converted open shoes (sandals, Slippers, etc.) shoes to V3's feet. Can anyone help with that? My V3 usually wears boots or shoes where I can just make her toes and/or feet invisible.

nakamuram ( ) posted Fri, 21 February 2003 at 1:40 PM

Distributing Morphs with clothing won't solve our problems, since we all use different morphs, and they are so numerous. What we really need is a better way of conforming clothing. Something simple like: "Figure 2 Chest covers Figure 1 Chest, Closeness of fit is: (0-Tight...10-Loose)." P5's cloth room was a step in this direction, but it was really intended for draped clothing and was too slow and complex.

queri ( ) posted Fri, 21 February 2003 at 2:11 PM

I'd be perfectly happy with standard V3 fitted clothing-- I'm only using Poser 5 now, so I can't use Tailor-- I never could get it to work anyway. PArticularly ont he stuff that came out just before V3, like the Italian suits, the gypsies and absolutely anything fantasy. Emily

pigfish ( ) posted Fri, 21 February 2003 at 5:24 PM

I use Poser 5 and I don't have any problem with Tailor working right. That's about the only P5 problem I haven't had...

queri ( ) posted Sun, 23 February 2003 at 4:50 PM

I thought Poser 5 put extra lines in it's cr2's so Tailor couldn't use them. Tell me that isn't true and I'll be very happy. I'm not looking forward to reinstalling PoserPros just for a couple of outfits. Emily
