The snake habitat is almost done. Audrey got the Rock Ledge completed last night and she should be ready to send it off tomorrow, after testing. Pokey: It's not mean. I wish there were RL toonimal rodents! I do feel kinda bad for some of the rats that Aurora (our Red-Tail Boa) gets fed and the mice that our baby Reticulated Python, Bori (it's short for Borealis), gets fed. Occassionally they (especially some of the rats) exhibit good pet traits and that gets to me a little. Then all of a sudden there's a flash of scales and they suddenly don't exist and, well, out of sight out of mind. B^) RL toonimal rodents would be just creepy enough to not feel even a little bit of sadness about watching their tail disappear between the jaws of doom! You know, I actually bought the house mouse just to do this pic!
Rats do make good pets. I have 2 of them. They're smart and social. I also have 2 cats. And a hamster. And a crazy bird- a Lutino Cockatiel. And some Fish... lol If I had a house I'd also have a dog :)

Hey Dodger, just kidding, my brother use to have pet snakes, and I use to watch him feed them all the time :)

I have too many pets:
We recently adopted out Khisanth, a baby Savannah Monitor. Aurora was a rescue -- the original owner never vitamined her and underfed her. She had a hole in her nose but it's gone now and she's gained two feet. She's recently decided she really really likes me and proceeded to restrain me from texturing the other night. I'd like to have some fish, but I can't figure out where to buy the wasabe to go with, and I need one of those little wicker mats to roll the maki properly. B^)
Should have added -- Jaelin is the chicken cat by choice. He prefers the name Chicken usually. Squab prefers the name 'Squabley Squabertson' for some reason. Runt prefers her name pronounces with a strong trill in the 'R'. 'R-r-r-r-untephant'. All the mouses have 'G' names except Tasslehoff (who's really Laurana and Alhana's pet and lives with them). The reason is because Gerald was named first and it became a trend. As to Gerald, I don't know why we call him Gerald. He's not yet very old and he's a good mouse. Okay, it's a reference to the Pink Floyd song 'bike.' 'I've got a mouse and he hasn't got a house I don't know why I call him Gerald. He's getting rather old but he's a good mouse' All the rats except Mystari are named after elven princes and princesses from the Dragonlance books. For Mystari, we were running out of elven royalty -- we hated the name 'Porthios' and 'Gilthas' was too similar to his cagemate's name. So we just made it up, but it sounds like a decent elf name.
