Rendered this in Carrara modeled in Rhino, extensive post-render work done in Photoshop. Was having a tough time deciding which forum to post it in... =)

Actually, the model is based on Obi Wan Kenobi's lightsaber from Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope. did about 6 hours of online research to get it right before I modeled it.

Looks like an old-fashioned flash-bulb holder to me. D'oh! That's what they used for the prop in the old Star Wars.... Silly me! Very nice modeling work!

Actually those were used primarily for Darth Vader's lightsaber and Luke's in Return of the Jedi. The components of Obi Wan's lightsaber are (from left to right on the image) A British sink drain, the casing of a British rifle grenade, the battery holder clip from a Graflex flash gun, a miscelaneous British lawnmower part, and a British sink handle. Dunno why all the parts are british, but aparently they are.
