I just bought Vicky Clothes pack from zygote, It is a good pack for it's price. Well after bought it I want to try it of course, so I put all the clothes to Vicky and they work great, even that I'm not have a patched version of poser 4, you know you got the common message about it has another different version and blah blah, it opened right. Well when I tried to use the catsuit over vicky I got a caught C error window, and made my poser crash badly, because we know how unestable poser could be sometimes I have a poser system backup and replace all, so I was able to fix poser again fast enough. The thing that it is making me feel mad about all this, is that it seems to me that Zygote don't test 100% their models, I can understand this kind of problems from free Stuff, but Zygote? I just wrotte them an e-mail with my complaint, I hope they can solve fast my problem. I'm attaching a picture about the exact error I got with the Catsuit. Best Regards Virus

Hmmm... Catsuit works fine for me. Dont know whats going wrong. I think the Colthes Pack is tested with a patched Poser but I'm not sure. Try to install the patch an see what happens. Chris

Jeff--because of some things Steve Shanks said below (see my thread about texture map for morphed dress), I believe I need the patch also and was just going to look for it. Since you know where it is--the manual one--would you mind posting the URL?? I'm still unclear about what installing it will mean--the reason I've piddled around about getting it, I guess. Any tips appreciated. See--when Chris says something like 'Try to install the patch'--that makes me wary LOL. BTW, I got a C exception also when I added one shoe last night after the morphed dress. I think I can't avoid upgrading G. Diane B

Thanks Jeff. I started the dl but noticed it was almost 3 hours for me (altho' that would probably translate to about 2). I'll do it later this evening. I just realized that I could probably go to the ECI --or whatever-- site--and get them, but this direct link is great. I'm assuming it will have a 'readme'/directions. Diane B

One thing the patch does is fixes that problem where when you re-pose a character wearing a conformed clothing item, the clothing keeps the original pose. Post-patch I've noticed it snaps into line with the character again. Plus it doesn't crash so dang much. Mary

It sounds like you all figured this one out OK. Zygote wasn't aware of any potential problem with C exceptions, but after getting some feedback about this (THANKS) we've also been able to replicate it. Apparently since this clothing pack was created on Poser4 with the latest/final patch installed, it needs to be used in a patched P4 as well. I should think that there won't be any problem here, as the last patch is very stable, not to mention valuable in fixing other problems as well. Please continue to let us know at Zygote if you do run into any problems or potential problems with our products. We appreciate it! -Chad Smith Zygote Media Group

Chad, if you see any of my threads, you will see I fixed most all my problems with the patch. I'm crazy about the clothing pak--just now getting ready to work with pants, sweater and the shoes. I love the diversity you've given us without transmaps with the different selections possible in the material area. Diane B

Oh what lucky you are. I'm a belgian user of poser and I'have the same problems with the Zygote Victoria cloth pack. I work with a french version of Poser and there is no update from 4 to 4.0.2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What can I do? Val

Virus ( ) posted Thu, 18 May 2000 at 6:02 PM

Sorry to say this Val :( But it seems that Zygote don't cares about that problem, I got a mail from them that the Vicky problem could be fixed only whith the patch, That's a big screw from Zygote Team, they just think that the only version of poser that exists is the english version. They are not even bothering to fix the problem, that's a lack of profesionalism from Zygote company, I guess the best thing you can do is: 1.- Wait till the french patch for poser, or 2.- Ask Zygote a refund of what you've payed for the clothes. The clothes are really cool, but it is too bad that Zygote don't thinks in normal poser users. Personally I hate to be a test dummy pilot, and everyone who bought Vicky's clothes become automaticly a beta tester of the poser 4 patch, Let's hope the Patch works fine. Best Regardings Virus

Val, Virus and anyone else interested- Zygote only recently heard that the Poser4 patch only works on English copies. Before that we saw no reason for any Poser4 user not to install the patch, and no reason for Zygote to fix any "problems" in our product that were caused only when the patch is not installed. We have been corrected in our misunderstanding, and are currently working on a free update to Victoria's Clothing Pak. (Though I must say that we don't consider this problem an issue with Zygote's quality, and we are still experimenting with possible work-arounds to this problem.) For the record, Zygote only tested this product on patched, English versions of Poser4. It looks like from here out we'll have to create our Poser4 products on unpatched versions. I apologise for the misunderstanding and subsequent issues for which we are still trying to create work-arounds. We will let you know when the free update is available for download. -Thanks.
