It is taking me to http://epic-usa.org/ for some reason. It's a redirect, I think. I suspect that because I'm at work, and my access is through the government, that Mayang's site is redirecting URL's with a .gov or .mil top level domain to Epic instead of letting them look at their page. Pretty freaking low, if you ask me. Which you didn't.
There is some pro-peace in Iraq commentary on the texture site itself, so I suspect you are correct about being redirected due to your address suffix, runwolf13.
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Yes, It's a re-direct. AgentSmith

It's not the site itself that re-directs, it is runwolf13's internet acces at his work that is doing it. AS

I doubt if it's even possible to make a site that scans the computer and re-directs it according to the results of the scan. Unless the site uses some sneeky spyware shit, but if that was the case I'd already have noticed that.

You guys are kidding, right?
What makes you think it is not the site doing the redirect? Even if runwolf13 was using a proxy it would not redirect him to a political site such as he described, especially since he says he's coming from a .mil or .gov domain.
Rayraz, that is basic web stuff, where you do a reverse lookup using DNS on an IP address and get a return giving the domain, such as the .mil or .gov. It is normally used for traffic analysis, such as parsing the logs to see where the customers are coming from, but you can choose what action to take based on the results. No scanning involved, just the using the Internet and DNS. Only tricky part is if the IP address doesn't have a reverse lookup entry in DNS.
But you have to use some 'other-than-html' scripting to find out that his internet-provider is from the government. And if the site doesn't tell you it does al that scanning it is spyware isn't it? I'm not really an internet specialist, but I thought that was how it works.

I'm putting this in front of our own webmasters/programmers here at Renderosity, see what they have to say. I'm starting to re-think this myself. I mean, I used to think there was no way a virus could attach itself to e-mails...lol. AgentSmith

Why does the spotlight link of the week take me to an pro-peace site about Iraq instead of the Mayang's Free Textures?
