Are there any sites out there that have samples or free downloads of dirtmps? Or, even better, what are some basic steps to making ones own dirtmaps? Thanks! TMG

making your own dirtmaps? just take a high-res picture of a dirty wall and put it on a new layer with the blending mode set to hard light, soft light, or overlay.

Thats a good way, but what I am after is making a single image. To be used, in a 3D program with a shader in an alpha channel, in conjunction with other material to add a bit of realism. Multilayered materials. I have a few now, but was wondering the best wat to create one. I also have tried making a picture a grayscale then back to RGB, and adjusting the brightness and contrast. This works good, but was wondering if there were other ways to do this maybe better? Here is an example of a dirtmap. (size reduced from original) TMG
