Finally got a digital camera like I've been wanting for, a Minolta Dimage 7i. It took a while just to understand all the operating options, but finally got there. Yesterday was my first excursion outside the house. As soon as I can go without taking the manual, then I'll know I'm getting somewhere. The first one is 3 ducks at a nearby pond. They were really giving me the evil eye. I must have been right on the edge of their safety zone.

A squirrel on our back deck. He was fairly close to the door, so I could shoot through the glass.

My faithful dog, Ripley. You may remember him from our Guppo visit. And Jordy, we have no cats!!!

Night from our back deck. Not nearly as much light from the street light as it looks. Really looking forward to getting back into night photography like I used to with my SLR. Simple stuff, but hey, it was my first day out! Now back out to wherever.

I'm jealous Marshall! Cool beans with your first few shots! Ripley and the other "aminals" look cute, even if they aren't cats chuckle I really like that night shot, quite atmospheric...looking foward to seeing more! :-)>

hi, looks like a good camera. just thinking, you could composite these so that it looks like the squirrel is waiting on the dog and the ducks could be the audience to one side...well maybe :-P

Pictures appear to me, I shoot them.   Elliot Erwitt

Cool Pics, Marshdude. (lol - makes you sound like a 60's sci-fi creature, dunnit? Attack Of The MarshDude... he he he) I take it that these were all taken on manual settings, seeing as how you had the manual with you, right?!? snigger. The squirrel is so cool..... I know I should hate them 'coz they've virtually wiped out the Red Squirrel over here, but hey - they're such a laugh to watch. For some strange reason I'm gonna forgive you for not having any cats.... dunno why?!? That night scene is the real stealer for me though - looks sorta surreal and pretty spooky.... (",)

All excellent Marshall! You're doing well with it. :~) How are you liking it so far?

I am, therefore I create.......
