Subject: Weird MAT problem

Like the title says...weird MAT problem.... When I have a figure conformed to another figure and load the MAT pose, it bends part of the figure...When the figure is alone or not conformed it works fine...any ideas what might be happening?

Sounds like you could be running into "Cross-Talking".
Daze Tech Help

and open the following link:
Cross-talk: What it is... and how to maintain control!

Hope this helps

That helps a little..heh. I'm still confused, though....Aren't MATs only supposed to address the materials and not the movement dials and such?

If you want to be sure, open the MAT in notepad and see what it affects. Ususally they only affect materials (that's why they're called MATs), but the MAT form can be used to scale, move, rotate or morph, etc. These are more properly known as MORs, SETs, and other weird names, but everyone calls them all MATs. If it has any reference to actors, body parts or whatever, then it's not just a MATerial file. Which might explain your problem. Check especially for any lines like 'bend', INKY or morph channels. mac PS The other way to do it is check ALL dial values, then apply the MAT and re-check to see if anything has changed. But that's only for people without a life....

Thanx. Yeah, I looked at it..just targets the materials... Anyway, it seems that it affecting the shin parts, which I dont have any geometry for..I removed the shin bones and now it works like it otta. Guess I'll be updating my Black Rose soon...heh.

Have you tried applying the MAT with IK switched off? Just a thought. mac

Nope. Though I hadn't thought of it. I just fixed the cr2s so they work. Thanx again.
