Subject: Need Help Exporting Obj/wavefront from Amapi

Im lookin for a way to export from Amapi to Poser. i'm having absolutely NO luck at all. Im Using Imac os 9.2 / Amapi / Poser4 these seem to be my only options at present

Which version of Amapi?? Only the current version 6 (and not yet released 7)work with the obj format.If your useing Amapi5.5 or older you'll need to be working with 3ds files,which import to Poser very well. SWAMP

Finallly...... AMapi CAN do it.. BUT as usual theres always a catch. i cant find the mag i heard they had a demo of 5.5 on it. nor can i find a demo that will export out to poser. Arrrggghhhh woe is me . :-(

Well I got Amapi 5.5 on last months ComputarArts and it's pretty cool.You can get Amapi4.5 by following a link up in the banner of the Amapi forum. Also many people like the free Anim8or and Wings3d(both also work in obj files). SWAMP

If you have anim8tor, you can export lwo from Amapi, anim8tor reads lwo. Then export as obj. I have problems quite often with poser reading Amapi's 3ds files. It's an extra couple of steps, but saves on the hair. Tashar 59
