Don't worry, you do not need to register or activate Poser 5 anymore. Please go to Curious Labs website (see attached link) and download the SR 2.1 and the figure updater.Don't launch Poser before you have completed this steps but before you are going to download all this maybe it would be a good idea to ask CL if the version of P5 they are sending to you already includes the updates. I know the german version of P5 does.

The activation of Poser 5 was disabled as per the latest Service Release (2.1). If that SR 2.1 is not included in your copy of Poser 5, you can download it from CL. If you install Poser 5 without the SR1, you will still have some time (don't remember how long at the moment, but it's a certain amount of days...) until the the activation has to be done. You will have enough time to install the SR1 and forget about the entire activation thing.
Actually afaik the SR1 and 2 is included in the newest batch of Poser 5 cd's. so you won't have to download it :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Perhaps this is not the exact place to post this, but as I visit R. quite often, I decided to post it anyhow: I ordered Poser5, and it with a little luck, it'll arrive here next week or so. Yet, browsing 'round I read that it needs to be activated by Internet, or, what's even worse, that I have to give all the specs of my puter to CL to receive an activation code. Problem is that I want to install it on a new puter that will not be connected to the Internet, and that I don't have that puter yet. Besides: I don't mind registering software by sending my serial to the company, but I do prefer it to be my choice, and not something a software company imposes on me. (that's why I keep Win2K, and don't change to XP either.). Can anyone enlighten me a bit on this? Thanks.
I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)
