Okay, I finally get poser files working right in Vue. Yea! Now, I bring in a poser file. I Render. I notice that the hand is in the wrong place or the eyes aren't quite where I want them. Whatever. Can I go back into Poser and update the pose, and then have Vue look at the new .pz3 file? Or is this just reimporting the .pz3 and I"ll have to delete the old figure? Thanks!

what do you guess? Yes, you have to reimport the changed Poser figure again. After something is imported a software (normally) does not know any longer where these data came from.

Well, it didn't hurt to hope. Actually, though, lots of programs have this kind of updating feature. It is/was a big feature of the whole Microsoft Office ebbedding and linking thing, and several other programs that I use can "relink" files, updating the current document with newer versions of older files included. I suppose I make this one of my wish list items for Vue 5. Right-click on a poser figure in the world browser and have an update option, so Vue automatically reimports the poser file updating the pose.

Yeah, that would be great. My feeling is, that these two programs come together more and more anyway. So there is hope. Linking elements into programs does have one weak point. If you transfer a file to another system, you must be aware of that you take all linked elements with you. I would say most of the problems happening in printing/presentation does come from forgotten things (images, fonts, ...). But i agree, it would be nice if...

Oh yea... I work in a presentation department, and I can't tell you the number of times people bring us a Powerpoint presentation that had links instead of embeds, and they are shocked when it doesn't work. Here's to hoping!
