Tough question, I would think it has to be based on a few factors; Is what you have 'better' than everything else on offer for free, and if so, is it as good as or better than similar items that are selling? Is what you have unique enough to be appealing to buyers. Would you buy it if you couldn't or hadn't made it?

Poser stuff sells great, Bryce stuff sells a lot less good. Freebees help build a good name, so if your freebees are popular you will probably sell similar or preferably beter (or more detailed) products. There's no real rule about quality, but the product will get tested. So if you make a poser texture for instance and it has this huge irritating seam right over the middle of the body you'll probably get an e-mail of a tester telling you you need to fix it. There are some guidelines available at the links in the market place and as long as you follow these you'll be fine. Quality sells better, but if you have a less quality object for a really low price it'll also sell. If the product doesn't sell good enough it will eventually be automatically deleted.

I'm curious, since I'm nice enough to give some of my creations away for free (the stuff that's possibly useful) but this nagging thought keeps coming up: What determines a standard of quality for an item sold here at Renderosity? I could probably just as well air this question in a few other forums, but I'd like to hear what fellow Brycers have to say.
