Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
The gray drop down thingies from my head have been getting thinner and thinner too and ... er.. Pbooost works fine and I tend to combine folders into categories to keep it sorted out easier. Categories I use are: Clothing - V2 Clothing - Posette Clothing - Mike mats - characters V2 Mats - characters Posette Pose folders such as standing, walking, sexy, etc also help me group by type rather than the name of the maker or some other non descript folder name which I can't ever remember three months later when its time to find something.

It was never designed that way. Sheesh! When Poser 4 was invented, 4+ years ago, >>>nobody<<< put texture files in their Pose library. MAT and MOR poses did not exist, and people may have been lazy but they still had to load textures by using the Materials window. Now laziness is accomodated and people stick 40 shades of lipstick and 20 eyecolors in their Pose Library so that it fills up fast. Merchants actually brag about how many pose files they are going to inflict upon the user. How many does Vicky 3 come with? 80? Suddenly that 256 is a small number. Poser 5 takes care of the problem by allowing more folders and nested folders. A bit of housecleaning would fix it for the people who don't want to upgrade yet. Do you really, really, REALLY need to have all those textures in where poses ought to be? Move out the ones you aren't going to use for 6 months! Even if you use Poser 5 or PBooost, scrolling through several hundred names to find something you could simply load is probably going to take more time than it saves. Carolly
There's really a free, easy fix for this. Create a dummy Runtime that mirrors Poser's runtime structure. Put shortcuts to the dummy and the real runtimes on your desktop. When you want to swap stuff in and out, minimize Poser, open both Runtime windows and drag and drop. You might have to re-read the library afterwards, but that's all. And of course, there's no limit to what you can put in the dummy runtime.

The gray vertical drop-down in my libraries file that lists my poses keeps getting thinner and thinner and now all the categories are truncated. Tearing my hair out trying how to make it wider. Anyone have a solution?
