Can anyone point me to some site or tutorials on lighting in Bryce? I'm wanting to work on making my images look more realistic.

Try also jonathan allen's website. Great tutorials there also. I have the new PC, so I don't have the link. But for sure someone could point it out to you (and me, ehm). S.

Also do a search on the forum for HDRI, global illumination and radiosity.

Computer Arts has some good general tips on lighting in 3D scenes. http://www.computerarts.co.uk/tutorials/3d/ There's also a general tutorial on camera positions in 3D.

Play and experiment too! Treat it like a photoshoot.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

Thanks for everyone's help. I tried the technique of a sphere of 400+ radial lights with an intensity of 1. The picture on the right uses that technique. The left image just uses normal sunlight.

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Wed, 09 April 2003 at 10:38 PM

Pretty cool technique, huh! But, if you tried a similar lightcage with a lot less lights, it would still look good. Soft shadows can help, too... Good stuff!
