I've been working on some textures for Shadownet's unicorn and in using them in Poser, I've run into a problem. Whenever I get the unicorn looking the way I like and then save it back into the library, when I bring it up again, the tail has turned "solid": it is no longer wispy and it is no longer listed in the materials editor, so that I can assign material/colors to it. None of my transparency settings are changed.

I've been using the purple unicorn (which I think I downloaded here in free stuff at one time, or it might have been from another website, I don't remember.., but I think it is the same unicorn) because the tail is listed in 4 separate parts in the materials editor and I can assign material/colors to it and transparency, but as soon as I save it back to the library and bring it back up again....bingo, the tails turns solid and the separate parts disappear from the materials editor. Incidentally, Shadownet's original unicorn has the "solid" tail, which the parts don't show up in the materials editor. I'm assuming that someone has changed the cr2 file of the Purple one? If I save as a PZ3 file, all is fine. However, I would like to eventually offer the textures in free stuff, but I can't get the darn tail right. I guess I could offer them as PZ3 files, but I was hoping to do MATs with them to make it easy. Anyway, I've spent literally ALL day trying to figure out why it is doing this. Can anyone help?

Er, is it true what they say? Better late than never? I could make a whole lot of excuses, but the short and sweet of it is I never saw your post before now. Did you ever get this figured out? I can tell you that the tail should not be going solid on you. It does not do this for me. It uses a transmap and transparency setting, I am wondering if you are somehow changes these settings. Anyhow, if it is not too late, and I can be of help, let me know. Rob

Rob, Thanks for replying, but to be honest, I haven't actually played with it for a while. I ended up making a unicorn from the Antelope figure, although I still love this one. Mines at my website.

Thanks! If I get back to the other unicorn (I still have the textures) and I can remember what exactly I was having trouble with (LOL!) I'll give you a holler.

Wow, your unicorn is GORGEOUS (I have shadownet's and I like it, as well ;)). Let me see if I can guess this... the tail is from the Poser Lion, the hoof locks and beard are from shadownet's unicorn, and the mane is curly bending hair... ? Am I close? bonni
