The only redeeming value of the business trip I took last week was that I got to drive to Nashville, and also though northern Mississippi. Not that great at face value, but as the driver, I also got to stop whenever I saw something of interest. These are a few of my roadside observations. Could have posted 40 shots, but you know how that goes... This first one is an apparently abandoned (I sure hope so) farm not too far from Nashville.

Nashville is a beautiful area. Hey Jack, you reading this? Youve got it made with photo ops just outside the city limits! Great shyte load of southern subjects. Already love your abandoned car shots, but with your eye and taste in subjects, you could post a cool thread every week! (OK, Im jealous of your area). This is a cow field (guess you figured that out). Note that dawgwood tree. Damn

This is the only Northern Mississippi shot. These yellow fields are everywhere right now. Dont know what they are, but they sure catch your eye driving by at 80 MPH. Wish Id had time to get off the main road, but well, maybe next time. Thanks for watching, and of course, critiques are always welcomed!

Business? Trip? huh? Me no understand. Does Business mean work? Looks like you did a good job (of avoiding work!) :-)~ Seriously, Great shots. I especially like the first one with the rusty rooves. But that dogwood tree is pretty damn cool. I now remember why we use color film. Its been so long since we have had color up here... Then snow the other day... Those yellow things, are they those mysterious plants called FL-OWWW-ERS? We no see them 'round here. Just mud and grass and brown trees. :-) Magick Michael

nice shots, all of them, definately a photo op! any trip where you get to see different sights then the one you view everyday & tend to take for granted is worthwhile I so enjoy viewing different parts of the country & other countries... not quite as good as being able to travel myself but it warms the wanderlust I have in my soul to view it here :) thanks!

be it ever so humble, there's no place loke home... Glad ya got to come through PfrankPower. Yeah there is a lot of beautiful scenery around the Middle Tennessee area. I go cruising a bit more now that the camera bug bit me on the keister. It's funny how things you see everyday blow visitors away when they see them. To me these are everyday sights. That's like the little house with the water wheel, I pass it 3 or 4 times a day and never pay attention to it till the sun catches it just this way or the leaves thin out in the fall so you can see a bit more of it. But I guess it's this way for everybody. Pfrank, I'm sure there are sights you pass everyday that would blow me away upon seeing them also! Nice shots! Consider this an open invitation to any of you that can visit Tenessee, ya'll come see us! Jack

Thanks much. Amazing what you can find shooting from the side of the road. All you need is a bit of a zoom lens. And zhounder, it was a business trip, but it was the driving to and from that gave me an opportunity or two.
