Subject: size of files

I'm in the midst of building a posable oven I haven't zipped it up yet for size. But the original obj plus texture is in the neigborhood of about 6 meg. What I'm wondering is this going to be to large of a file for downloading. I would like to do a whole pak of kitchen obj. Fridge, oven, dishwasher etc. But I'm worried that the size will get out of hand rather quickly

Don't think you are going to want to go much bigger than 6 megs. Otherwise even your zip files will be huge. I have DSL, so it doesn't bother me, but the poor folks on modems will be downloading forever! Not to mention the fact that some email systems (like AOL which I'm on) have trouble with really big files and you will need to email your files to me for testing and final upload. thats what I'm worried about download time. Guess I'll have to do seperate objects instead of a pak.

Why not do the separate objects for download and offer the complete pak on cd?

I thought about that. I can burn cds here at the house. wondering how Renderosity would like to work that out

Hmmm. We're not set up right now to handle that, but we are looking into the possibility.
