Subject: Why she thinks I'm mad.................

JordyArt ( ) posted Thu, 17 April 2003 at 4:23 PM · edited Thu, 15 August 2024 at 2:31 PM

Sometimes my other half expresses sentiments to the effect that I should be residing in a carehome that specialises with mental problems. OK, on rare occassions she could have a point, but not this time. Lately I've been hovering very close to various items with my camera taking shots to use as textures. Some of these items have, to the untrained eye, seemed a little unusual or irrational. She obviously has an untrained eye. Hence, when I was transferring some washing from the washer to the drier (I'm not domesticated, I just have strong memories of a full load of whites coming out as a full load of pinks. I'll do my own, thanks) I happened to notice the little fluff filter in the front of the drier needed emptying. So, I takes it off, and....well that's where she thought I was going mad. Definately. I took the layer of fluff off the filter mesh and started taking close up pictures of it. She went to bed literally shaking her head. But you guys understand, don't you?!? Say yes. Please say yes.

However, here's the result. I think I'm justified and look forward to using it in piccy's! (",)

I can often be found crawling around on my hands and knees in public places taking macros of various debris that I find interesting. Needless to say, I can't ignore the whispers and the fingerpointing of passersby who think I'm totally insane. So I understand, how you feel!

Hehe....only other photographers would understand mooncat! :~) We're not the weird ones they are....

I dunno man. But what would you do with yello acrylic texture? However you could have a lot of fun applying this texture to a vald Vickie! Try it it's fun. Also it sorta looks like a acrylic blanket I had/have. Not sure where it is now. For what it's worth. I freaked out some people about to buy a office space because I was photographing an abandoned crate there. See attachment. Seriously seems rational to me. BTW. Have you trioed to create you own home made texture using her as the source? Bsteph

What is REALLY scary here is the fact ath though i have not done this yet, I understand completely! I haven't touched my 3D programs in almost a year (that is when I got the diital). I rarely do any texture work with my photos so I haven't had the need. But I can see me doing the same thing. My wife accuses me of taking my camera everywhere with me, including the bathroom. Of course it goes to the bathroom - I supplement my income very nicely using just such a method..... but there again, I'm blessed......... ;) ROFFL!! (You work it out)

Would You care to come and live with Me for a little while Jordy? If Your other half thinks You a bit Crazy ...perhaps I could endorse that...or...prove Her wrong. Did You use a Filter on the Dust Photo?

JordyArt ( ) posted Fri, 18 April 2003 at 1:28 PM

erm - Tedz, I'd love to, but Britain needs me too much ;) Nope, no filters or anything, just good, honest photography :) (",)
