Subject: Alpha Channel

Sorry for the dumb question but could someone please tell me how to render a scene with an alpha channel? In this case it's an animation I want to render. I find info in the manual on alpha channels but I don't understand how to apply to a scene for rendering. Any help would be appreciated.

Peace

What do you want to use the alpha channel for? Is it for postwork or are you talking about alpha channels in the texture?

Sorry, yes I want to render the scene for post work in After Effects. I don't like the starfields in Bryce and I want to add the prefered starfield in After Effects...just render the space scene with the alpha background. Thanks, Peace

OK then select the objects you want to "cut" out then on the left side by the render button is a little triangle. Click this then select object mask. You will get a black and white render that you can then use in your editor program for masks.
