heya; it's a little uniformly bright. the best way to do fur seems to be lyne's method (www.lynescreations.com). she uses a noisy mottled texture, then brushes it out with the smear tool. if you start with a texture on your model, you will get the proper shading for everything. this one looks like it was painted on in flat white. (the brown at the bottom looks fine, though.)
