(Took me awhile to make a pose to show this off!) Got some complaints in the past about "...but the strap ties should hang down in this pose". Yeah, we can't fix everything, but we can fix that! I added a pair of ghost parts to the bottom, and another pair to the top (one tie is hidden under her hair), that rotate the ends of the strap ties, just like any other body part. No morphs, minimum overhead. It actually worked too, Gee!

Thats really nice, It's good to see you take such pride in your products, your always finding little fix it's, to make the clothes or hair even better. :O) Thanks.

the shoes are wicked!!! Jim, do you design your shoes yourself or you use reference??? cos if you are designing them yourself, i reckon you should be selling them to real shoe companies!!!

This stuff (including the shoes) will be in a Glamorous Vickie set in a week or so. No regular V3 versions this time, though. I do get some ideas from the Victoria Secrets catalogs. ;-) I finished the shoes with just the straps, but they needed something, I made the mesh section later. I did it in Max by making a tri-patch, fitting it, then beveling and extruding out the edges. I then deleted the polygons themselves. The hard part was closing in the back. I think Nerd did something similar when he was making his chainmail stuff. The generic name for this kind of shoe is "thong sandal", incidently. Here is another pic. I made the top triangles so they could slide to adjust the coverage too, just like the prototype. Had to use morphs this time, though!

Will "Point At" work to keep the ties aimed downward in an animation?

Jim Burton ( ) posted Fri, 25 April 2003 at 6:39 PM

You know, I was afraid somebody would ask that, as I've never used "point at", and have no idea. ;-) But, after saying that, I just tried it, and yes, it does! It doesn't look like it gets dynamicly updated though (you have to pick the clothing to get it to change), I have no idea if this is the normal or not.
