When Lourdes and I started this Dark Ages Trilogy of Celts, Vikings and Saxons we had intended to keep them separate but on second thought with the wide acceptance of the Vikings (for which we thank you!) we decided to release instead an Expansion for them that would enable you to create Saxons and us to keep prices lower. This is a texture and props pack which includes two new helmets, a kite shield and a new sword. Textures are for the Viking clothes, all meticulously researched and again offering a wide variety of looks. Here are some preliminary images, more details to follow soon as the project is wrapped up.

Here's a close-up of my favourite, a Sutton-Hoo type helmet in which Lourdes really outdid herself!

Just one more :) - also wanted to say that besides the new shield prop there also several new textures for the shield in the Vikings pack as well.

I love this material Jon, your historical models are my favorite, and the Sutton Hoo helm is a bueaty (we could use some splint greaves and vembrances) ........I do have a question though. The helmet in the first render ........I think it is an inacronsts helmet, I don't remember ever reading any accounts of Britho-Kellic helmets with barred visors? I could be wrong, but I am a dark ages junkey.

Seriously scary helmet and beautifully reproduced. Looking forward to these. Emily

This is wonderful! I recently got your Knights of the Round Table....great stuff. When I do a search at DAZ for DAZ Vikings, nothing comes up. Is this for the Celtic Warrior?

Thanks! I'll have save that link. Wonder why nothing came up with I just searched for "Viking"? Great looking piece!

Awesome work! Now we can have Saxon violence! I know, bad pun. I couldn't resist!

Great looking work - saving my penny's up for when it comes out. I must agree with the previous comment about the barred face guard. I don't think that sort of thing ever existed. In any case, if it DID exist, it would have to be a LOT thicker/heavier to have been of any use. One thing I'd like to see..a 'boar' for one of the helmets. A lot of Saxon helmets seemed to have a boar figure on the crest re-inforcing piece. For reference..see the 'Benty Grange' (sp?) excavated helmet.
