THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Want to be wet

Has anyone seen a tutorial or have any tips for adding water droplets to objects in Bryce? (ie. condensation on a glass, etc.)

Flattened spheres/terrains (B5 & B4)... Metaballs if you have B5. Uhhh... Use a glass or water material to start with... Any more good suggestions?

I think someone has a free material that is rain on glass. Otherwise as paul suggest though it can be a pain to get the placement right.

Yeah, I've tried using metaballs, but it is a bit of a bitch to make 'em look right.

Metaballs work great for droplets hanging from the tips of leaves or grass, but condensation on glass is hard to make. Maybe a custom bumpmap and specularity-map would help create a texture with good results, but it will still be very difficult.

It's quite easy to get the placement of the droplets right: - Rotate the glass in a horizontal position - Drop the droplets only on the highest part (so the flat side is against the glass and does not havwe to be rotated) - Group them with the glass and rotate the glass like 10 degrees and start all over again with another 50 droplets. - So on till you have covered the whole glass.

There is a material in the free stuff called Wet Window Material at this link.... about half way down the page. Hope it is what you need.

That mat is really awesome. I have had it for a while and found it very useful.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

I have that MAT already. Maybe I'll give it another shot to see if I can make it do what I want. Thanx all!
