Anton, your render innovation is so beautifull I can't wait for the tutorial. But meanwhile, do you have a ttheory for why it works the way it so obviously does? Thanks

It is because the technique adds more detail whith each layer. Three lights lit differently in three different layers will give you the effect of 9 lights when combined. Sorry for the delayed response.

heya; also i think the different shading and colouring help reproduce the subtle layers of skin tone. the slight morph changes simulate imperfections in the human anatomy. possibly. :)

Multiplying the lights, that makes sense. The layers of light/shadow giving the surface a sense of the transluscence of flesh? That also makes sense. When I tried doing the three render per Anton my lighting set ups were too different and I had excessive proliferation of shadows. Maybe one studio set-up, another close to it, and a head on lighting like the flash of a camera? And I didn't think to change the colors of the lights from render to render. I can't figure out how to do the morphing, maybe a subtle motion blurr? I know the trouble with computer animation and "rotoscoping" is the absence of motion blurr in the frames. Need to try a noise bump map on one of the renders per Traveler for skin texture. Anyway, Anton sure does it beautifull. Can't wait for your tutorial!

Just try adjusting the facial dials a little here and there. One Render very bright on the face makes a difference
