Hello everyone, thanks for the advice in the last post. I'm trying to transfer morphs from Victoria 2 to Angelina. I'm a beginner, or inexperienced poserist but im just trying things. But how do you transfer morphs?? I've heard some stuff about Morph Manager program, but i'm on a mac, and that thing is not for macs right? Is there any way to transfer morphs, like The Asian Dial from victoria, and many other dials that i would like angelina to have. I also tried the reverse, like saving angelina's awesome leg as a morph target and then Load Morph on Victoria, but that turned negative as the program errored. ; )

I don't know angelina. Is she a victoria 2 character? In order to save a morph target and reload it on another figure, the 2 figures must be the same. If not, poser gives you a 'vertices do not match' error. If they're the same it should be no problem. Just one thing. On export, uncheck ALL options. Don't be fooled by poser's 'export as morph target' option. It sucks. I dunno about macs, but Morph Manager is the app to use for this stuff. mac PS make sure you're transferring a leg morph to the leg, not her big toe or something. LOL.

OK. I tried this myself. I discovered I actually have this angelyna. I just didn't know. Shows you how often I use poser for anything other than assembling and testing figures. LOL. Well, the scoop is, I can't get a morph to work. I CAN get it to transfer, no problem, from angelyna to vicki 2, but it goes wild when I set a value. (see pic) I switched IK off for both figures, pasted angelyna's leg settings to vicki... nada. I'm pretty sure the problem is in the angelyna scaling. Her body Yscale is 92%. I tried her at 100%, but the morph is still weird. I think you'd have to scale every part of vicki to match her, then try it. mac

The way i did it was to load Angelina in Poser then, "spawn" a moprh for each bodypart involved. And loaded each MT on V2 naming each one Angelina. Now, turn each one to 1.000 & "create FullBody Moprh". It's slow, but works flawlessly! Marco

It is very important that you do it like this: Select "hip", then spawn MT by exporting only hip(Without any tranformations). Do this for all bodyparts. It's helpfull to name your exported MTs like hip_Angel, lButtock_Angel, lCollar_Angel,... You get the idea. Marco

I think I did the same thing but I spawned a full body morph and loaded it that way. Can't get any of the individual body morphs but I liked the whole figure the way it was.

tebop: with Maconstructor you can transfer morphs like Morph Manager does on the pc.

Mac is right about the scaling. It had BODY Yscale <100 and for something that moves, this simply is wrong. The Yscale stays in the up/down direction of the stage - not the figure. (So does X & Z, only X=Y=Z works.) You have to separately scale each group - and squishing the thickness of the arms and not the length is silly too. Although, the arms will get shorter as you bend them down - if the figure is vertical. V2 is a factory for the generation of characters, the point is to spawn a character out of V2, not put one back in. There are useful function and repair morphs that belong in any V1/2 figure, but not the other ~95%. And - after spawning, it is more efficient to copy the morphs as deltas - using MM4/MC from the saved CR2 - instead of exporting and applying the morphs as externals. Once morphs are deltas, they should be kept as deltas - unless you need them for stock in a modeler to morph further.

You are right Jaager! V2 & V3 are loaded with MTs, so we have almost infinite comibinaisons possible. I only have the Angelina MTs loaded for that purpose. When i'm satisfied with a shape, i keep only the deltas that make it so. Makes for a lighter model to pose & animate. Indeed, Angelina has "local" scaling all over her body. But, these scalings work perfectly with her MTs. BlackHearted scupted her that way. He probably did it in poser using mags, like i often do myself. It's surprising what you can accomplish with the Mags & Group tool in Poser. ;-) Marco

I think what he was saying was that he wanted V2's morphs on her, so she retained her scaling while being able to use, say, V2's face morphs. Get Maconstructer and use that to transfer them from vick. I'm not familiar with it, since I am on pc and use morph manager, but I am sure there is plenty of willing help if you have problems with it. :D Angela

hi there sorry i just found this thread.. is there no way to use morph manager on a Mac? because you could do the entire operation in minutes in morph manager by just loading the vicky morphs into her cr2. loading the morphs the other way wont work, becase her entire body is scaled. this was before i fgured out how to do scaling morphs, so i just used the dials. theoretically you could take every single body part on angelyna and set the x, y, and z scale to 100%, then you could transfer her morphs onto vicky by simply exporting the parts of the body as morph targets. either way, without morph manager its a long and ardous process. cheers, -gabriel

MarianneR ( ) posted Fri, 09 May 2003 at 12:26 PM

With Maconstructor you load two cr2's and decide which is the target and which is the source. Then you get a colour-coded list of the morphs in the source cr2, with different colours for compatible, non-compatible, morphs already in the target figure, and morphs that the program is uncertain about. Then you decide which morphs to transfer and save the new cr2. Isn't that what Morph Manager does?
