Subject: P5 and MAT files

Is it just me, or are other people having problems with P5 and MAT files? My MAT files will work fine for a while, but P5 starts forgetting how to use MAT files and I'll end up with different textures on different materials. It's like P5 is a big baby that needs to be burped after every few MAT files. Example: I load up the V3 Cloak and apply the Maid Marian texture to it with the MAT file. I change my mind and apply the Camelot texture using a MAT file. I'll then go and try a few more textures with MAT files and suddenly P5 will have Maid Marion's trim and Camelot's hood. Transparencies are the worst by far. I'll load a transparency, then use a MAT to wipe out the all the transparencies. The item shows up as completely white - no transparencies at all. This is what should happen. The next transparency MAT I use, though, gets ignored and the old transparency comes back, or I'll have a mix and match between the two trans maps. I can go in and manually strip the old textures from the Material Room (stupid P5 won't delete nodes) and that will help (sometimes) for one or two more MAT files, but then it gets screwed up again. Yeah, one answer is to stop changing my mind and stick with the first thing I click on. ;-) The thing is, I'm creating textures and MAT files then testing them out in P5. After the first few MATs, P5 gets confused and I have to close the program and open it back up to test more MAT files. It really sucks after a while. I can't tell if I did something wrong or if P5 needs to be burped again. Sigh If anyone else has seen this problem, did SR-3 fix it? There's nothing on the P5 SR-3 cure list that I care about so I'm very wary of installing it and watching my computer explode.

similar here, mainly with bumpmaps, sometimes they are connected to the nodes, sometimes not, sometimes viccy3 takes textures only on the head and theex nipples and so on. didnt test it all with the sr3,but the sr3 is definately a big improvement in many other cases.for me everything runs much smoother and faster.seems that with the sr3 poser needs less memory and is not swapping to the hd so often .
