Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 04 7:42 pm)
Hi Poppi; yup I love animating in Lightwave but my character modeling skills are non-existant. Can see that you'll have it down in no time the way you're tackling it :) I like to model all of my sets and objects in Lightwave and then bring Poser animations in with Propack and render them out. (Gets around that rigging problem too!) Character modeling is next, but I know I'm gonna be stumped....
lol @you....animations scare me so badly i could wet my pants. and, modelling...well, i love it. it will probably be all that i can figure out to do in lightwave...check that...i surfaced a model, today....sooo proud. and, psst...don't tell the lw forum....i HATE the manual....it is all turned about, and hard to deal with.

A small suggestion...you might want to post your question about the Lightwave handbook on the Lightwave forum.....you might get more responses that would be useful to you. Just a thought.I totally agree with krimpr. I'm about 600 pages into "Inside LightWave 7" and am learning more than could be puzzle-pieced together from the manual. The manual is a great reference (obviously), but sucks for learning how to use and master LW. ILW7 fills that role perfectly, covering most of the 'scary' stuff in clearly manageable detail. Also, when I've come across some odd, unexpected behavior and emailed Dan, he actually responded with suggestions. Not only a superbly great book, but a superbly great author who knows the software! Can't recommend it enough!! BYS
Hiya Cyhiraeth; at the risk of being told off for too much LW yapping in the Poser forum, I found the Project handbook to be alot of fun and it covers alot of ground regarding different functions, and well worth reading. "Inside Lightwave" pushes things farther, and is highly worth being the book to read next. Just my opinion; as an unprofessional LW user I'm highly underqualified to make judgements...

I was just going through some of the threads I have saved on my laptop and was (re)reading Dr. Geeps animation tutorial. He sure put alot of effort into his little presentations and this community, and whatever he has been up to I hope it's a good thing. Just wanted to wish him all the best and say hello.
