Sice a short time I used POSER and have many questions.

  1. Which program your used modeling the characters and the clothing for POSER ?

  2. Which additions is the best for POSER ?
I see many abou VICTORIA,VICKY but these names is unfimiliar for me.

Generally...

  1. Which the set of programs is the best for users of POSER ???

I concentrated on "still images" not on animations.
I see many works on RENDEROSITY which shocking me about...QUALITY :o

I usually don't answer these questions, but I know the answer to some of these. 1. Which program is best....hmmmm...what ever you can handle and efford, Pixel, ZBrush, Truespace, Deep Paint, Cinema 4D, Amporian, Maya, etc. NO best one they are all good. 2. DAZ's Victoria 3 and Michael 2 (DAZ is coming out with a Michael 3 soon. http://www.daz3d.com 3. Vue d'Esprit, Bryce, Terrain, Mojoworld, and of course Poser 4, Pro Pack and Poser 5. Also go to RDNA for more great poser stuff. Sharen

For stills a decent 2d package is a must as well for postworking your pics. Very few of the pics you see here in the galleries will have come straight out of Poser. Most have been tidied up and added to in something like Photoshop (my preference), PaintshopPro, Painter or something similar.

I've been told that Anim8tor, which is also free and has a fairly easy to learn interface, is also good for modelling for Poser. Not that I know how, but I've seen Renderosity members teach themselves how in the recent past.

For texture maps and postworking, you should have a decent 2D graphics package ala Adobe Photoshop or PaintShop Pro. Whatever you use, make sure that it has layers! Good luck and don't forget to have fun while learning and creating. BYS

Vicki 3 is good... but I still keep going back to Vicki 2. PaintShopPro . Rhino for modeling, and the student price is great.

ONe thing on the quality of renders. A lot can be achieved by lighting and camara control. I'm still getting to grips with lights and usually use pre-sets (most often DAZ's global lighting) but they can add a great deal to the quality or feel of a render.

...and the focal for "Camera".

You can't believe it, bust the best and accurate models can be done with Poser, UV Mapper and a text editor, you also can use Rhino and 3DSMax for creating some shapes needed, not the model.

Stupidity also evolves!

The issue of "3dworld" I picked up yesterday had loads of free modelers, etc. on the CD. It's thier feature article, just what kind of quality can you get for free. There's even an article from on the "Matrix" people about why he uses poser... later jb
