Many of you may recall that back in March I was cited for Criminal Tresspass to the tune of $417 minimum or as high as $1700. Well I had my hearing yesterday. After waiting an hour and a half the judge finally heard my case. First he asked where Michael was and I stated I was he. He thought I was a lawyer (wearing a suite helps alot). The officer was not there but had sent a request for a postponement. I told the judge that I am starting a new position in June and would liek to resolve the issue today if possible. He asked why I had been on the trai tressle and I told him honestly that I was there to save a dog we saw there (I neglected to mention gettting some shots while I was up there, must have slipped my mind). he related how he got hit by a car once trying to save a dog, cost him 11 days in a coma and a broken hip. My wittness stated that she was going to go up and get the dog but was told I was already on my way up to do just that. the fact that she looked very professional and she was in her 70's didn't hurt. After all was said and done, the officers request for a postponement was denied and the case was dissmissed. I won! Never did get to submit my photo's of no signs being posted, dang. Magick Michael

Congrats Michael! I was not aware of this story before today...very interesting. I hope you weren't out any $$ as so often happens. Yes a suit and manners will get you a long way with the judicial system, won't it? Was the dog saved? You know me the critter lady, had to ask ;)

Good to hear that commen sense (eventually) still wins some time.

This is one crazy ass world we live in. I am glad they didn't arrest you and lock you up for such a despicable act.
