I used a plane set right in front of the camera, with a modified daytime sky material and then just fiddled with the transparency and fuzzy settings. I lowered it into the ground until it was the depth I wanted. I also set the "murky" slider to "clear". I also have about a 15% low altitude blue fog going in the background. Without the plane, the foreground is pretty brightly lit, but the mountain in back is fogged out. What surprised me was that all the blue gunk from the transparencies on the leaves, etc. combined with the plane and fuzzed the whole thing to the point that in the larger image everything has a sort of chalky texture to it.
Hi Kate....ahhh!...may be that was why e-onsoftware give us the "blue gunk" thingy...useful after all. Think of it, using it for a deep dep blue underwater scene may be ideal. As for sugeestion, kind really help much...we don't have low altitude fog or even mist here, nor in the early hours of the morning...dew may be :) but then I am either snoring or in front of my PC's monitor. What I can say is that your image does looks close like those I've seen in reference photographs for the wet wet rainforest. Bill

Was playing around with adding some animals to this scene and decided I wanted to do a sort of early morning, sun just barely up so it's still dark foggy thing and this is what I ended up with. What do you think? How would you have gotten this effect? I'll tell you later how I did it. *teasing grin* Kate
