Here's a recent thread with comments and links that you may find helpful. (This is a frequent question here :^) ).This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

depends on the version. If you have at least Ver. 4, and Pro-pack, it will keep the textures you've assigned it. I've just converted to object as export in Poser, then imported object in Bryce. Of course, I'm sure the thread works better above..;)

I think the easiest way is to export the poser guy as an .obj, obviously, and then in Bryce, go to File, Import, and then point it to the correct files. After that, make separate families, not necessarily groups, of the various Poser textures (skin, face, hair, shirt, etc.). You can then tweak the textures in batches, which might save you a little time. But, honestly, you are already doing it the fastest way! It's Bryce's Materials Lab. It's beautiful in it's complexity, but also a pain in the ass for importing things. .mat files for .obj's were not meant to be copmatible with all of the many settings in Bryce's materials lab.
Aye, I think the families are just about the ONLY way to manage a large scene! Even then, they don't have enough families. I hope future versions (hah!) give us some more programmable family/group relationships. Subfamilies? Siblings? But for Poser it just means you only have to mess with the selecting process once, and boom, you're set for texture adjustment.

Hello, I am thinking about doing a digital comic, but I would need to import a large number of models from poser into bryce for each "cel". What is the best and fastest way to do this? Usually I have to import the model and reassign all the textures by hand, which is very time consuming. Is there any way to automate this process or at least reduce the amount of tweaking that needs to be done? I have tried using Grouper but it does not seem to actually save me any steps, though I may not be setting it up correctly or something. Thanks in advance, Matt Baucco
