Shape Magic, a simple but powerful 3D model-generating software had a major upgrade released this week over at 3D Commune (it's exclusive there). The lovely Lady Fiona (by Blazerwiccan) is demonstrating it's many features in The Face - On-Line! this week. :-) In the Forum Post link above there is an interview with the man who created Shape Magic for the rest of us. A very nice guy, too (I've know him for a couple of years now). :-) As always, I hope you enjoy this week's show. :-) To just the pictures: This week's Home Page http://www.3dcommune.com/3d/page.mv?/3d/reviews/theface/shapemagic/index.html Featured Face Page http://www.3dcommune.com/3d/page.mv?/3d/reviews/theface/shapemagic/ff-shapemagic.html thanks - Skeetz

Thanks, for looking you two! I forgot to mention that all of Lady Fiona's headgear and her neckwear and locket were all created in Shape Magic. :-) -dg

not to hijack anyones thread, dragongirl, you'll forgive me this once? I've been using Shapemagic since, well, when 1 came out, I upgraded this weekend. The gazebo? in this pic was done with Shapemagic and P5 materials.. Even I could do it.

That gives me hope. I'm a modeling flunky....I really need something that is idiot proof. Great job, both of you!

it really is a nice piece of software. Also, if you intend on getting it, go to his homepage and get all the extra little things. It was well worth the money. And best of all, they create small file sizes. Then I took them and ran them thru uvmapper.

This looks good....funny, we use AutoCAD and can do just about anything mechanical...but I want to branch out and add some softness and curves, so I will definately get this and start to combine the 2 software packages....see what I come up with...looking for new stuff to do...Sharen

Cool gazebo joffry. Thanks for posting all that info too. :-) Rich's mind is always at work, creating new ways to use the Shape Magic models, and he puts all those files up for download on his website. He has Tutorials for it there too. I bet you will give it quite a workout, Sharen. Can't wait to see all the things you will think of. :-) Dailyn - I've been a painter all my life, and my mind has a bit of time trying to go from 2D thinking to 3D thinking. If I can make interesting models in this - ANYone can. There's hope for us. LOL! -dg
