Spent a day in London taking pictures and true to form it rained, this image summed up my feelings for the day with all the splendour of the city obscured by the rain and the wet. Would love to know if it conveys the same sort of feelings to you or does it just leave you cold. **:0 )**

I think it's a great shot but the background is too out of focus for me to get the feeling you have related. What stands out for me in this shot is the drops of water on the trees, they look like tiny lights and give the picture a fantasy look, almost Christmasy.

You mean it's still raining in London? LOL! "the splendour of the city obscured by the rain and the wet" or obscured by the DOF as doca infers? Either way the image is beautiful! :-)>

I really like it, I'm fascinated by this sort of stuff, as one can see in my gallery, I love to go out after a rain a shoot drips, drops and reflections.....actually I like the DOF, my feeling is if the building were in focus it would be a distraction from the water drops.... my 2. :~)

Cheers Doca, you have seen it just as I intended, I know there are lots of ways to portray this but the water drops were every where and this shot allowed me to include them and the city in one. PC its always raining in London except when the sun shines LOL Thank you Michelle, do you think this would work in b&w? Im toying with converting it. If I remember there was a how to posted recently. :0 )

I like the background because at first I didn't even notice it due to checking out all the raindrops. Then all of a sudden, theres the building! The little bit of color on the tree trunk separates it from the grayer background, so I would guess that a B&W image would seem to have less depth.

Mmmm...I'm with Marshall in that I think it might not be as good in B&W... that's just my opinion of course. Try it and see what you think. Yes....here is the thread on how to [convert to B&W using Channel Mixer](http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1228843). In that thread there is also a link to a site that has pre-set monochrome channel mixer settings... they're really good!

And actually what I should have said is not that it wouldn't be as good, but that it might not be as effective...since it's a great image no matter what. But it seems to work really well in color. Sometimes color/b&w really does make a difference.
