Subject: Just a hint about the Vicky skirt problem

Maybe I shouldn't spill the beans, but I have to tell all you folks that are having the skirt length morph problem--that mine is working fine now--thanks to those great folks at Zygote. Expect yours will be getting 'fixed' soon too. Diane B

Good to know Diane... I have a "grass skirt" tex & trans map ready & waiting to post to free stuff as soon as I can finish testing it with a non-shearing morphable skirt :-)

Wish mine would work, I downloaded the update and it still doesn't work. Emailed Zygote and have yet to get a reply, which surprises me, they usually get right back if you have a problem. I have the newest Poser update as well. Any suggestions on how to get it to work? Marque

Those are good beans to spill Diane, thanks for letting us know Paul

Marque, evidently you missed the 2 threads about this. Zygote HAS been working on the problem and was having no luck. They asked for input from those of us that were having problems. They asked me (I guess because I started the threads) to send them my cr2 and rsr which worked fine for them on all their machines. They sent me a PZ3 to try (it bombed totally for me). Finally they sent me a new .obj (I don't think I'm telling tales out of school here) and that totally corrected my problem. I reported on all of these back to them and they kept working. I knew they were very frustrated because many of us were reporting the same problem but yet some had NO problems--PC and Mac folks. AND--they were totally unable to replicate the problem on their machines. It does appear that there must have been some corrupted .obj's-or at least mine was. When I replaced mine with the new one they sent, my skirt worked fine. I'm sure they will make an announcement or something, so hold on. My guess is they are making SURE this corrects things. That's what I'm trying to figure out, are they actually sending each of us a new update, is the one on the site that I just downloaded yesterday and tried bad? I think the reason I'm frustrated is because I sent them an email and they did not get back to me, which surprised me. I guess I'm just impatient for it to work, wasn't ready to use it before so didn't worry about it that much, it's hard justifying the expense for my "new toy" to my husband who is curious as to why I couldn't use the regular P4 female. I'll call today. Marque

I just got the corrected object last night late, so I doubt they are totally ready to make a statement. I don't think there's any reason to send an update--and not all have a problem to begin with. I expect there will be an .obj posted for dl, but that's totally a guess. Now, are you having problems with the whole update?--we're not--just the skirt. If you need a skirt right now, just load the dress, use all the transparency areas except for the skirt and there you are--or make a transmap for the whole dress except for the part you want to remain for the skirt. The dress length morphs work fine for the dress and the update corrected the exploding shoulders problems and the skirts 'sit' much better. They will never ever sit totally correct as per Zygote folks and Jim Burton who have explained that the geometry will never allow this--(this is my guess--but the skirt has 'thighs and hips' and Vicky has buttocks and abdomen--for starters). Other than the one skirt, everything else seems to work fine for me. Diane B

BTW--they didn't just send this to me--they were using me for 'guinea pig'. DBF

Hello, With the help of Diane B "picnic" we here at Zygote have been able to find the cause of the problem. We have located the source of the problem; the .obj itself. We have replaced the free download update file on our site and the it will now fix all problems with the skirt. This update file can be found on the clothing pak product page. All those who purchase the pak after this date will recieve the bug-free version as well. We have also included a new .obj file for the bikini bottom which contains all uv coordinates (maps will apply to it now). I think this is the first time we have not been able to replicate a problem. We appreciate your patience and your comments as we have tried to solve this problem. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding. Eric Allen Zygote Media Group

Whooooohoooo! Yes! Now I can use the model as more than a bathing beauty! Marque

I'm curious why you couldn't before--all the clothing worked fine except for the skirt--and even it worked fine unless you wanted to morph the skirt to a long one. Diane B

Did you put a new update file up or did you replace the old one. Specifically which file are you referring to? Perhaps a date of posting associated with the link next to the link would help?
