Subject: Notice to those who are illegally distributing Lyne's Creations models!

Lyne ( ) posted Wed, 04 June 2003 at 1:13 PM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 5:28 PM

It has come to our attention that some people are illegally distributing Lyne's Creations heron and egret models. Please be assured that we know exactly who have bought our model sets! Remember, it is illegal to redistribute any part of any model packages in any way! USERS: if you come across anyone trying to give you any of our models by e mail attachment or by downloads, please notify us and do not take possession of them! We are aware of sites like edonkey that store stolen models that are then shared. Vista Internet Products Personally I enjoy visiting many of the galleries here at Renderosity. When I spot an image using any of my models or any of our store consignor's models, I do make a note of it. Some of our customers do submit images and others are not aware that we do have an ongoing gallery. I will often contact the artist for permission to display a copy of their art in our gallery. Our Gallery at vistainternetproducts.net has grown to nearly 350 images now. One of the rewards of modeling is to see my critters come alive in beautiful art scenes! Lyne Lyne's Creations

Ummm.. just a thought Lyne. Perhaps it's not a good idea to mention site names (eg. edonkey) I, for one have never heard of it until now. 'Course I'm not in the stealing loop, so whadda I know... Sorry to hear your work is being stolen. Actually you'll be hearing from me soon because I've bookmarked you site. I want them chickens :)

Yes, sorry to hear you work is being stolen...that bothers me that people would be so selfish to steel. I like looking at Art work and some people are taking away the fun of looking at great works when they are steeling stuff. I hope things work out for you Lyne. Johannah

Sorry to hear about the illegal redistribution of your work. I know how much effort you put into your critters and the fact that you offer freebies via PlanIT3D to the 3D community makes the illegal use of your commercial models even harder to accept and understand. Like Sharen I will be happy to keep an eye out for the illegal use of your products and report it straight away. this is a great community so lets not let a minority spoil it.

What rats, Lyne; you are so generous to provide free stuff to folks at planit3d etc, then for people to rip you off. But I suppose the 3d world isn't all that different from the regular world; not everyone has integrity and does the right thing. Very sorry to hear about this. I think your models are terrific (as you know, lol), and use them frequently. I'm more than happy to refer people to Vista (and have done so often), since I've found such a huge variety available there, and know from experience that you all are so helpful. Keep your chin up; we'll all keep our eyes peeled (figuratively, that is!) and let you know if we see something questionable, but hard for us to know who bought them legally and who may not have. hugs PS I agree with krimpr; not a good idea to give inadvertent "free advertising" to warez and other stolen stuff sites, just in case.

That is terrible, Lyne. Yours are the best animal/bird models around and they are not expensive. Some are even free. I will certainly keep my eye open and let you know if I come across any.

I am sorry, but sadly not surprised, to hear of your predicament, Lyne. I have to date relied on the free sharing paradigm, but if I wanted a particular commercially available model badly enough then I would most certainly pay for it, not use a rip-off copy. Unfortunately too many people seem to regard software and other copyrighted piracy as a victimless crime (indeed, probably not even as a crime at all), and the apparent anonymity of the net provides a cloak for such activity and a ready means of transmitting the contraband. I have no idea how this antisocial attitude could be changed. Would these same people decide they wanted but could not (or would not) afford a Mercedes be just as happy to steal one from a showroom forecourt in the same "no victim" manner? I hope not, though I suspect a small minority may. Why then is intellectual and artistic ownership not accorded the same respect?

My immediate reaction to the naming of one warez broker site was the same as a couple of ther respondents here. On reflection however, I doubt it much matters. I imagine for those inclined to investigate, it is a simple matter to discover such sites using nothing more sophisticated than a good search engine.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I know this is a "reality" of this world... but only had proof right in front of my face a couple of times... this latest being the most blatent... and I can't let it go. I also need to let folks know how much I AM here enjoying the art and asking to add art with my models in it to our own store gallery, which is very special to me, personally. When I work so long and so very hard to have a new model animal or bird "born", then my reward is to see it "come alive" in a home provided/created by the talented people who honor me by purchasing my creations. I cannot tell you all how much it means to me, and keeps me going, when the model is "fighting" with me and frustrating me... I do learn a lot with each model and never stop trying to improve with each one (being self taught all the way!)... At any rate... onward and upward! Thanks! Lyne

I would like to be very clear... ALL my Poser freebie morphs and maps are available at PlanIT3d- http://www.planit3d.com/index.htm Some are pictured and linked on the front page of PlanIt3d, and you can find the rest by clicking the word Poser at the top of the home page! :) I am very happy to be a part of this wonderful site, and very grateful for it's hosting of my freebies! The ONLY place my animal and bird models can be purchased legally is at our store: http://www.vistainternetproducts.com/ Lyne Lyne's Creations
