Subject: PBoost/ Organising Poser folders advice needed

Have too many Figure & Pose folders. Bought PBoost. On Win2K does not switch banks w/o rebooting Poser. Lately- Poser refuses to switch banks at all using Pboost. I have Partition Magic- could maybe repartition a new ntfs drive? Also have Poser 5. Is there some way to see my additional figure folders in Poser 5? Anyone? Pack

I get that sometimes on XP. Have to reboot my machine before the file locks are gone. Even though PBoost says it's Poser doing it, sometimes the operating system makes locks too. If you have Poser 5 you can point it to your Poser 4 runtime, no problem. You do it from the top level in the Poser 5 libraries panel. If you use Vicky 3, make a copy of the !Daz folder in runtime:libraries in Poser 4 to the same spot in Poser 5.

With Poser 5 you don't need PBoost. I am using Win2k with ntfs and pboost still gets too squirrely to use most of the time. Gave up on it until the update comes out. Marque

I can't always switch banks, either. What I do is have everything organized the way I like it, and then I decide what I'll be working with and put only that stuff in my "Default" category. If I later find I need something else, I go back to PBooost and just drag the new thing to the default and have Poser reload the library and there it is. The only thing is that you need to start PBooost before you start Poser. Then you can add stuff to the default as much as you like. Periodically, I go in and take stuff back out to keep the default libraries small. Works perfectly for me. bonni

Now that is a great idea, bonni!
