Subject: When does PS8 come out?

Hi all, I've been considering upgrading to PS7 from PS5.5 for awhile now, but I hear that PS8 is coming out soon so I think I might wait. I've seen references in other posts to PS8 coming out in 3rd or 4th quarter, but in most companies I have worked for their fiscal year is based on when the company was founded rather than the calender year. My question is: Does anyone know what month PS8 is coming out? Do you know when Adobe's 3rd or 4th is? And finally do you know of any links for official Adobe news on PS8? I've searched their site and they seem to be very quiet about it. Also has anyone heard any news about other Adobe product updates, like new versions of Illustrator or Pagemaker? Thanks, Josh

In print (in this case being Computer Arts Magazine, one can assume they are rather well informed) I found this. Forget about fiscal years. Just plain Old World years. Think Christmas.

The June issue of Computer Arts has everything for the graphic addict - the full lowdown on the best plug-ins for Photoshop and who's using them, fast and effective Website redesign techniques in Dreamweaver, T-shirt design in Photoshop and exciting news of Illustrator 11, InDesign 3 and Photoshop 8 - all set to launch by the end of this year.

So I guess you have to decide if you want to wait... I have heard most of the improvements will be geared towards the professional digital photography market (also in CA), so you might not need to wait for a hefty 5 or 6 more months. PS7 is rather complete, I think.

I heard the 3rd quarter, but I think that was unofficial. Don't hold your breath.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure if I should wait or not. Thanks again, Josh
