Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 11:02 am)
Hi Ray! the press release just went out last week, so it will probably be a month or two until the reviews start showing up. We did get strong reviews for our first product (the maya plugin). I'm looking forward to the review of our new products as well. If you do a search here for reiss, you'll see a lot of people are saying good things about the new plugins. here's the thread where we first announced, and there's a few users there who have used the plugin: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1284938 cheers! -Josh

I picked up the plug-in this morning, and it's been really great for bringing in the figure with all the textures applied in the correct places. There's a lot I haven't tried with it yet, but I threw together a scene and animated it, and the attached link shows a smaller version of the movie clip (3.9 meg Quicktime). I ran into a small quirk on the figure I haven't been able to figure out yet - when the camera is pulled way back, her skin is visable through the clothing in a few spots, but as the camera closes in, the areas close up. It may just be the figure - I'm not sure yet. Anyway, the movie took a few days less to render than it would have in the Firefly engine, so I'm really pleased with it! -JeffAttached Link: Reiss Studio, home of the BodyStudio professional Poser Plugins
Hi Jeff! cool movie. hey, the thing with the figure looking through the clothing could be a clipping plane issue. If you set the near clipping plane, and far clipping plane a little closer together it can solve that problem. Usually it takes 1 decimal place to resolve an issue (so if your near clip is at .01, try setting it to .1, strangely enough this will have the same benefit as if you changed the far clip from 10,000 down to 1,000) the way it works is that when max goes to render, it checks based on depth which objects are closer. if max has too much distance between the near and far clipping plane, then it thinks objects that are closer together are actually in the same spot and doesn't know which to render in front. looking forward to more images! cheers, -JoshAttached Link: http://www.brickhousedigital.com/frankenbrak.mov
Thanks Josh, I'll give that a try. That's a setting I've never played with before, so you've given me something to work with. Here's another clip, this one with some sound. I also picked up Mimic 2 this weekend, so I've had a lot of new toys to play with. The animation on the body is a little un-realistic, but it's a start. Great work on the plug-in! -JeffThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible.
