Subject: Any tips for getting a smoother depth of field effect?

For the life of me I can't get Vue's depth of field effect to render smoothly. This is one I left to render overnight, it was at broadcast setting, camera set to 10% blur, as you can see it's very grainy, although I was pleased with the overall effect - now if I could just get it smoother lol. Alla

Broadcast is not anough to get a really smooth render. See the schema above. Be ready to have a long render time if you want a good result. And if I may... put something dynamic in the foreground to let the image tell a story (animal, plant...).

BTW, my image ladybug was rendered this way.

Ladybug is incredibly real Guitta! I'll try those settings tonight when I go to bed cheers :) Your right the picture does need somthing, I often get so involved with trying to get a technical detail sorted (water ripples this time) that I forget that it's supposed to be art lol. Alla
